As I’ve written in my story, the Self-Alignment Framework is the result of many years of introspection and a struggle to understand the human experience.
Literally, SAF is the result of me wrestling with God for a long time.
When a project comes from a place that deep, it’s hard to put a simple monetary price on it. It doesn’t feel right to lock it away.
So I decided to make it open.
Also, the very nature of ethics demands transparency. I don’t believe anything that touches on our values or moral principles should be built or decided behind closed doors.
For an alignment system to be trustworthy, its core logic must be open to inspection. A “black box” ethical system is a contradiction to this mantra.
For these reasons, I have made two commitments:
The philosophical framework, SAF, is and will always be open. It is released under the MIT license so that anyone can study, debate, and build upon the ideas freely.
The AI implementation, SAFi, the engine that proves the philosophy, is released under the GPL-3 license. This ensures that its core logic remains transparent and that the community can contribute to its development.
My commitment is that the core principles of SAF and the core engine of SAFi will always be open, because trust requires transparency.
